Crinums produce clusters of pink, rose or white lily-like blooms atop tall stems  They bloom all summer long with up to 15 4″ flowers.  With their rich heady fragrance, they are a winner in the southern garden.  Zones 7-10.  See also our gorgeous Amarcrinum, a cross between Amaryllis and Crinum Moorei.


Digweedii Crinum

Digweedii Crinums has somewhat spidery white star-shaped flowers with a light pink stripe. The flowers open widely and are usually very fragrant. It is one of the last to bloom, generally late summer and fall. Also known as “Milk & Wine Lily” or “Nassau Lily.”

Ellen Bosanquet Crinum

Ellen Bosanquet Crinums (Boxanquet) have clusters of deep rose-colored flowers which bloom and re-bloom in succession in late summer. It’s drought tolerant, but also will grow in swampy conditions once established. A very hardy plant. Best color if grown in shade. Divides well.

Powellii Crinum

Powellii Crinums are hardier than most crinums. The flower stem bears a terminal cluster of about 10 blooms which open in succession. Long stems of pink blooms similar to an amaryllis with white throat and fan shaped, strap-like, slightly wavy foliage. Blooms in July and August.
