Paperwhite Bulbs

The most popular group of tazettas for indoor forcing are the famous "Paperwhites".  Paperwhite narcissi are wonderful for saying "spring" even in the dead of winter, with their sprays of delicate blooms scented with musky fragrance.  Flowers are produced in clusters with each bulb producing several stems.  They are especially nice during the holiday season and are ideal in pretty bowls with pebbles or soil.  Pot up in early November for Christmas blooms.  For a full look, plant 5 to 8 bulbs in a container at least 6 inches in diameter and 3 to 4 inches deep. Nony and Inbal are best forced in soil. 

In Southern climates, Paperwhites can be planted outside with no pre-cooling.

Good for Southern gardens!
Ziva Paperwhites are early pure-white flowers with up to three stems per bulb. Very fragrant. For indoor forcing plant mid-October to early November for Christmas bloom. Or grow outdoors in the South where they will often bloom in December.

Delicately scented.
Inbal Paperwhites have pure-white flowers, similar to Ziva, except with a very delicate and pleasant fragrance and a flatter cup. It has strong, upright dark green leaves and stems, with up to three flowering stems per bulb. For indoor forcing, plant in soil in mid-October to early November for Christmas bloom. Or grow outdoors in the South.

Their delicate fragrance is the least overpowering of any of the Paperwhites.
Nony Paperwhites (also called Bethlehem) have white flowers with pale yellow cups and many flowers per stem. Best for late-season forcing – pot after December for February blooms. They can also be grown outdoors in the South.
