Caladiums are some of the finest shade plants for the South and are grown primarily for their spectacular tropical-colored leaves. Their bright splashes of color brighten shady areas all summer long and are especially popular for borders. Caladium plants grow best in shaded areas or indoors and can make the perfect houseplant. They're easy to grow - plant when the soil has warmed to at least 65 degrees. In colder climates dig and store for the winter. Our selections include Fancy Leaf, Strap (Lance) Leaf), and Dwarf varieties. Fancy Leaf Caladiums are taller and have large, heart-shaped leaves, while Strap (Lance) Leaf varieties are more compact with smaller narrower, strap-like leaves.
